This rustic Lake House Rules sign is completely handmade, using distressed reclaimed wood. It can be really fun to personalize the rules. This sign includes nine boards, but we can customize the size if we need to. If you have a creative idea, just send me a message and I’ll try to accommodate you the best I can. Let me know the family name as well as the name of the lake that you’d like to use. I’ll create a mock-up and send you a picture to be sure it’s correct. I’m happy to make any changes until it looks just right.
I choose boards with different colors and tones to complement each other. I lightly sand down the wood, leaving much of the natural patina created by the outdoor elements over time. I try to keep the wood as rough as possible to really capture a rustic feel. Slight cracks and nail heads are left "as is" for added rustic texture. The artwork and each letter are all wood burned by hand. The beautiful brown color created with pyrography, "drawing with fire" is a perfect complement to the reclaimed wood! The planks are attached with canvas straps on the back, so when your sign arrives you simply have to unroll it and hang it on a sturdy nail.
