This is a rustic wood Christmas sign. Inspired by the classic story, A Christmas Carol. I chose a favorite quote by the beloved Tiny Tim to feature in this Christmas decor. All the Christmas artwork is "drawn with fire", or wood-burned onto a pallet of reclaimed wood. To create this rustic Christmas decoration I use an old-world lettering design which I love for Christmas-themed artwork. I make the wood pallet myself. I like to sand a curve into the top of the wood pallet to look like the shape of a Christmas tag or ticket. You can use this sign as a door hanging, lean it on your fireplace, or hang it on the wall. It includes happy jingle bells and an iconic Christmas rope in red and natural jute.
To prepare the pallet for artwork I lightly sand down the reclaimed plank, leaving some of the natural patina created by the outdoor elements over time. Slight cracks and nail heads are left "as is" for added rustic texture. The beautiful brown color created with pyrography is a perfect complement to the reclaimed wood. I add hints of white that accent the artwork, creating a wintery look.
