Meet Loyd and Earl, a couple of Halloween pals. They are handmade pumpkins using real dried gourds! It's surprising to know that these two happy pumpkins began as a seedling on a farm located in the United States. I cut the bottoms off, clean out the middle and carve the faces just as you would a fresh jack-o-lantern. Translucent paints and waxing show off Loyd and Earl's gorgeous gourd shell, which feels wonderfully smooth to the touch.
Being handmade, these Halloween pumpkin pals are truly unique and have their very own personalities. I leave the inside unpainted because I think it's important to not forget the true nature of these pumpkins as real vegetables! Some fun fall elements are added to their stems like tiny pumpkins and frazzled rope. I "wood-burn" or "gourd burn" their names on the back, as they really don't like to be confused!
Light them up! There's nothing better for your fall tabletop decor than to have lighted pumpkins around your home! Because I really don't enjoy walking around my house turning on all the lights of my fall pumpkin decorations and then having to turn them off at bed, this pumpkin comes with its own tealight candle with a timer! You turn on the timer setting around dusk, then it stays on for about six hours, and turns off on its own! It's so wonderful when the pumpkins just light up as the sun is setting! You don't have to touch it again until the battery runs out and needs to be replaced. Just place the tealights down where you'd like to display your Halloween gourds, and then place Loyd and Earl right over the tea light. Instantly adorable!
What is included?
You will receive both Earl and Loyd, as well as two battery-operated tea lights.
The height varies a tiny bit, but Earl is about 6 inches tall and Loyd is about 9 inches tall. The width is between 3 and 3.5 inches.
