This is a handmade "JOY" sign for Christmas. I wood-burn the old-time decorative lettering onto a piece of reclaimed wood. The "Joy" letters and Christmas wreath artwork are drawn vertically. This Joy sign looks great as part of your Christmas display throughout your home. A pretty iconic red and brown rope is tied to two corrugated metal loops so you can hang it from an inside door handle. Or you can simply lean it against your fireplace mantle for a unique addition to your rustic Christmas decor!
To prepare the reclaimed wood I lightly sand the surface, leaving much of the natural patina created by the outdoor elements over time. Slight cracks and nail heads are left "as is" for added rustic texture. The beautiful brown color created with pyrography is a perfect complement to the reclaimed wood. I added white accents to the entire sign for a pretty Christmas feeling.
